The Innovation Check-ins in Makers: Evaluation Process Steps

When an idea takes off on the Makers platform, it embarks on a structured evaluation path, crucial for determining its trajectory within the Sella Group. This journey isn't a simple move from point A to point B but a series of well-orchestrated stages ensuring every idea is valued to its fullest.

1. The Departure Gate: Initial Analysis

As soon as an idea is shared on Makers, its pre-boarding begins. The first check-in agent  is an expert from the Competence Center Open Innovation (CCOI). This colleague  examines the idea and categorizes it into one of three possible flight classes: Suggestion,  Incremental Innovation, or Radical Innovation. Selecting this class of travel is crucial as it  determines the type of support and resources the idea will receive during its flight.

2. Cruising Altitude: The Advocate as Navigator

Once airborne, the idea is welcomed onboard by the Advocate, the navigator who  identifies the sector of sky where the idea can soar. This specialized colleague chooses  from over 20 categories of change, ranging from customer experience to payment  systems, from new technologies to organizational interventions. The advocate then  nominates a Program Manager who will pilot the idea through the next phases.

3. The Flight Path: Program Manager Evaluation

The Program Manager receives the flight dossier from the Advocate and begins the flight  monitoring phase through a specific grid of items, differentiated by the idea's class of  travel. If the Suggestion aligns with the company's route, it decides whether to bring it to  destination and in which period of the year. For Incremental or Radical Ideas, the Program  Manager may choose to send them towards the open skies of acceleration paths (light or  full), allowing navigation through more complex clouds to refine the underlying business  concept.

4. Landing and Terminal: Makers' Day and Beyond

After journeying through the acceleration paths, the ideas prepare for landing at Makers'  Day, the grand terminal where they are showcased. Here, they can be directly  implemented or may receive clearance for further takeoff towards the idea building path,  anticipating a future climb towards venture building.

Radar Control: Continuous Monitoring in the Community

Every stage of the idea's flight is monitored by our community, acting as a radar following  the plane along its path. It's important to remember that, like at any airport, some ideas  may not take off. This should not discourage, as every attempt is a vital part of the  innovation process.

Final Thoughts:

In Makers, every idea is a passenger with a ticket to the future. This evaluation process is  our control tower, ensuring every idea is directed towards the right path, receiving the  necessary assistance to reach its final destination: tangible and impactful innovation for  the Sella Group and its customers.

Navigating the Altitude of Innovation:  The 3 Possible Flight Paths within Makers
Every idea is a plane ready for takeoff, and with the Makers platform from the Sella Group, the sky of innovation opens up before us in all its vastness. As pilots of these thought aircraft, we are offered a sky map with three possible flight routes, each with its destination and altitude: the regional flight of Suggestions, the national journey of Incremental Innovation, and the bold transcontinental crossing of Radical Innovation. This article explores the 3 routes of Makers through an aeronautical metaphor.
